User-friendly portal for the Ministry of Education

Aimprosoft partnered with a Liferay development company, which won the tender, to build a web portal for the Ministry of Education of one of the European countries.  The company required additional resources to deliver the project on time. Liferay was chosen as a platform because it provides a lot of OOTB features, from advanced content management to granular access control.

We ensured that the portal’s functionality changes depending on the user’s role. Administrators received tools to manage school information, parents could register their children on the portal, make requests for education in specific schools, and review their academic performance. In turn, teachers obtained convenient tool sets to perform their daily activities like filling the electronic journal, viewing attendance, and many others. We also developed custom widgets and a Liferay theme, integrated with third-party APIs, created a library of reusable components, and designed the system architecture and core components.

Project outcomes

1. Faster portal delivery thanks to the library of reusable components created by the Aimprosoft team and multiple out-of-the-box features offered by Liferay.
2. By opting for Liferay, we eliminated the need to create many functions from scratch, thus reducing the client’s total cost of software development.
